Decades ago in war-torn Korea, comradeship was formed between man and beast.
John Boscola, 80, is a Korean War veteran who served alongside Asher, a 100-pound German shepherd who moved silently and with stealth. Asher was Boscola’s war dog, and, though the relationship didn’t start off on the friendliest terms, Boscola quickly formed a bond with her like no other.
“It was instantaneous; I knew, I knew that I had a fantastic dog,” Boscola said. “I knew it. I knew it. Nothing went by her. Nothing.”
