Military Working Dogs (MWD’s) have been used by the U.S. Military since World War I. Along with their volunteer handlers, the dogs are trained in teams as scouts, trackers, sentry, mine/booby-trap/tunnel and water detection of hostile forces. They have been used in WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, the Persian Gulf, Bosnia, Kosovo and now Afghanistan and Iraq. In this weeks episode, we will hear some of the stories of canines who are guarding and protecting our military personnel as they are trained to do, with Courage, Loyalty and Honor.(From U.S. War Dogs Association Website)
